WESSEX TRUCK SHOW 2014: Big thumbs up from truckers and visitors!

TRUCKERS and visitors have congratulated the organisers of this year's Wessex Truck Show on a job well done and have said "keep on trucking!"

The Mayor and Mayoress of Yeovil were among the visitors on Day One of the show yesterday (Saturday, August 9, 2014) and were only too pleased to tell the Yeovil Press that they were giving the show a BIG thumbs-up.

Cllr Mike Lock and his wife, Pauline, have been taking a keen interest in all of the 400+ trucks on show at this weekend’s (August 9-10, 2014) event at the Yeovil Showground and all the associated activities.WESSEX TRUCK SHOW 2014: Big thumbs up from truckers and visitors!

“It’s really good and great to see so many people here,” said Cllr Lock yesterday as thousands of people poured into the Showground site.

Mrs Lock added: “Congratulations to the organisers – they’ve worked really hard in getting this together.”

Many of the truckers at the show have also told the Yeovil Press that the event had a great atmosphere.

John Bartlett, of W. Rolls Ltd, said: “It’s just like how truck shows used to be. It’s really good.”

And Barry Stephens, of S. Morris, told the Yeovil Press that he had been working for months on getting his vehicle spotless ready for the show.

"You've got to take pride in what you do," he said.

The show is on today (Sunday, August 10, 2014) from 10am to 5pm and tickets on the gate cost £8 for adults, £4 for children aged three to 12, and £20 for a family ticket of two adults and two children.

A spokesman for Wessex Truck Show said: “There’s still loads for the family to do – so why not pop along and join us.”

People will able to enjoy a ride on the monster Lucas Oil Cruiser truck, while they will be able to enjoy the expert work of airbrusher Matt Paint.

Last time for entry today is 4pm.
