SOMERSET NEWS: Elderly man trapped in bathroom after fall

AN ELDERLY man was rescued by firefighters this evening (Monday, July 7, 2014) after taking a tumble at his home and getting stuck.

The alarm was raised at just before 6.30pm to the incident in Brooks Road, Street, and firefighters were told that a man had fallen in the bathroom and had got trapped behind the door.

Firefighters helped to released the man from the bathroom and gave first aid until the arrival of paramedics.

A spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service told the Yeovil Press: “Duty of care was then left with the paramedics and the gentleman’s family.”
