YEOVIL NEWS: Disgusting! Covered in dog mess when cutting grass

RANGERS and volunteers are getting fed-up at being splattered in dog poo when they cut grass at the Yeovil Country Park.

They have now urged dog owners who exercise their pets at the park – more commonly known as Ninesprings – to pick up the mess left behind by their animals.YEOVIL NEWS: Disgusting! Covered in dog mess when cutting grass

The problem with dog poo left lying around on pavements and local sports pitches and play areas is a common one – although it is an offence to do so.

But people need reminding that the Yeovil Country Park is no different and dog owners need to tidy up after their pets have “done their business.”

A number of people have asked why the planned new rangers centre at the country park includes shower facilities.

But a spokesman, speaking on the park’s Facebook page on Friday (June 27, 2014), said: “Sometimes people ask us why we need a shower in our new centre; the answer is for when we strim dog mess and it goes all over our clothes, face and arms.

“Unfortunately this is what happened to one of the rangers today.”

The spokesman added: “Please pick up your dogs’ mess.”
