SOMERSET NEWS: Air ambulance called out to crash scene

THE air ambulance was called out last night (Friday, June 27, 2014) following a road crash in Somerset.

The alarm was raised at just after 8pm to the serious road traffic collision on the A37 at Ston Easton.

Firefighters from Cheddar, Wells and Glastonbury were all mobilised to the incident and they discovered a two-vehicle crash.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “There was nobody trapped inside the vehicles, but there were three casualties involved all with serious injuries.

“Crews made the vehicles safe and remained on scene to assist with access and egress for the oncoming air ambulance.”

Land ambulance personnel were also at the scene.
