SOMERSET NEWS: Chip pan fire call-out for firefighters

ONE man needed medical assistance suffering from smoke inhalation following a fire at a home in Somerset.

The Fire Service attended a chip pan fire at a property in Plover Close, Alcombe, Minehead, at just before 7pm today (Tuesday, June 3, 2013) and two fire engines from Minehead attended.

Firefighters put out the fire and requested the support of ambulance personnel due to one man suffering from smoke inhalation.

A spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews administered oxygen and awaited the arrival of the ambulance.”

“The fire is believed to have been caused by accident,” added the spokesman.
