Sue and Gill, who both live in Ilminster, will be aiming to conquer Ben Nevis in Scotland at night-time, lit only by the moon and torchlight on July 5, 2014.

The expedition to Britain’s highest peak is being organised by the Alzheimer’s Society and the Ilminster Lions Club was only too pleased to support the fundraising sisters.

Anyone wanting to sponsor the pair can do so via their online fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/Gillian-Susan.

Ilminster Brownies were also a beneficiary of the Ilminster Lions’ generosity on Saturday when Mr Taylor presented some of their members with a cheque for £100.
