YEOVIL NEWS: Four taken to hospital after Cartgate crash

FOUR people were taken to hospital last night (Saturday, May 24, 2014) following a two-vehicle crash on the outskirts of Yeovil.

The A3088 Cartgate link road between Yeovil and the A303 was closed after the collision took place just after 6pm.

Three fire engines and a rescue tender from Yeovil attended the scene, along with police officers and ambulance personnel.

A spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to release four casualties and also one dog.

“The casualties were transferred to hospital via ambulances.”

The road remained closed for most of the night, but is now reopen to motorists.
