YEOVIL NEWS: Car fire after crash

FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night (Wednesday, May 21, 2014) to deal with a car fire in Yeovil.

The alarm was raised at just before 11pm to the incident in Lyde Road which had happened following a two-vehicle collision. One fire engine from Yeovil was mobilised.

The crash had led to a fire in the engine bay of one of the two vehicles involved.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “All persons were free and clear of the vehicles.

“The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.”

Fire crews made the vehicles safe and left the incident in the hands of the police and ambulance.
