YEOVIL NEWS: Volunteers needed for Speed Watch

VOLUNTEERS are needed for a scheme to try and put the brakes on speeding motorists on the Abbey Manor estate in Yeovil.

A police-backed Speed Watch initiative is in the pipeline to work on the busy Stourton Way through the estate.

So far two people have come forward to help – but more are needed.

Speed Watch involves people monitoring the speed of motorists. Anyone found exceeding the speed limit are later warned in a letter about their actions, but if caught again more stricter action is taken against the offending driver.
