SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: New pre-school building officially opens

THE new building for the Roundabout Pre-School in Somerton was officially opened on Saturday (April 19, 2014) and it certainly brought memories flooding back for one parent.

The £223,000 building has been built on the site of the previous pre-school and has been named the Maynard Building in honour of trustee Jenny Maynard who has been a driving force behind the seven-year project.

“I feel embarrassed and honoured to be named after the building,” she said.SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: New pre-school building officially opens

Louise told the Yeovil Press that she was a toddler at the pre-school when its previous building was built in 1989 and was featured in the local newspaper along with a photo.

Among the dignitaries at Saturday's opening was the chairman of South Somerset District Council, Cllr Mike Best.
