YEOVIL NEWS: Are you up for 3 Peaks Challenge?

THERE are still places available for anyone wanting to attempt the 3 Peaks Challenge in aid of the Piers Simon Appeal and its School in a Bag project.

It will be the third year that the charity – which was set-up following the death of former Yeovil College student Piers Simon, 33, in the Asian Tsunami of 2004 – will be taking on the challenge of scaling the highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales.YEOVIL NEWS: Are you up for 3 Peaks Challenge?

It will see adventurers scale the 1,344m of Ben Nevis in Scotland, 978m of Scafell Pike in England and 1,057m of Mount Snowdon in Wales from Thursday, May 1, to Monday, May 5, 2014.

Luke Simon, of the PSA, said: “We still have places available for anyone wanting to take on the Summit for the Weekend challenge.”

Registration fee will be £60 with two sponsorship options available. Please email info@schoolinabag.org if you are interested.

The previous two 3 Peaks trips have raised more than £15,000 for the PSA which supports projects in areas around globe hit by natural disaster.

The spin-off School in a Bag project sees youngsters in those disaster-affected areas receive a bag of everyday goodies to make schooling and life a lit bit easier.
