Gas leak at home

FIREFIGHTERS from Yeovil, Crewkerne and Martock were called out this evening (Sunday, March 2, 2014) to deal with a gas leak at a home.

The alarm was raised at just before 6pm to the incident following reports of a strong smell of gas at a property in Over Stratton near South Petherton.

Officers confirmed a smell of gas within the property and set about isolating the gas supply.

A spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “The occupant of the property was helped to safety and ambulance crews were on scene.”

The property was ventilated using a specialist fan to clear any gas from the building.
