Short circuit sparks fire

TWO fire engines from Yeovil were called out this evening (Saturday, March 1, 2014) to deal with a reported kitchen fire at a home in the town.

Firefighters were mobilised at just after 6.30pm, but found that the fire at a property in Scott Road - which is situated on the new Wyndham Park estate off Lyde Road - was out on arrival.

A spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “The small fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in a heating lamp – causing slight damage to the kitchen.”
