Hearing funding comes through loud and clear!

THE Abbey Community Association in Yeovil will be celebrating tonight (Wednesday, February 5, 2014) after being awarded grants worth £1,750 towards improving its facilities.

The association runs the Abbey Manor Community Hall at The Forum and it recently found out that something needed to be done to help hall-users with hearing impairments.

Now the association is looking to install an induction loop and sound reinforcement system along with extra equipment such as microphones and stands.

The overall project cost is £3,500, but South Somerset District Council has today agreed to meet 50 per cent of the costs with £1,166 from its village hall budget and £584 from its Area South community grant fund.
