Mobile homes destroyed in blaze

A POLICE and fire investigation has been started after a number of mobile homes were destroyed this afternoon (Wednesday, January 29, 2014) in a blaze.

The alarm was raised at just before 4.30pm today to the site at Yeabridge Lane at Yeabridge, near South Petherton.

Fire engines from Crewkerne, Ilminster and Martock and a water carrier from Yeovil were initially mobilised to reports of a caravan on fire.Mobile homes destroyed in blaze

But when the first officers arrived they found that the fire involved three mobile homes and further support was called for from Yeovil and Street.

Two people at the scene were treated by paramedics for shock and smoke inhalation, while fire officers also reported that a number gas cylinders were involved in the blaze.

A Fire Service spokesman said that all three mobile homes had been destroyed by fire.

“Initial fire investigations have been undertaken and will continue in the morning with scenes of crime officers,” added the spokesman.
