Roof tiles blown loose in town centre

TILES blown loose in the recent storms led to firefighters being called out to a property this afternoon (Monday, January 6, 2014) in Yeovil town centre.

The alarm was raised at just after 1pm to The Retreat in Bond Street and one fire engine from Yeovil was mobilised.

A spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews found that some tiles on the roof were hanging in a precarious position.”

Firefighters removed the dangerous tiles from the roof.
