Roads closed across county due to weather

THE highways department at Somerset County Council had a busy New Year’s Day when it responded to 43 callouts across the area due to the bad weather.

A number of roads remain closed this morning (Thursday, January 2, 2014) due to weather-related incidents. These include:

A361 between East Lyng and Burrowbridge.

A359 from Marson Magna to Queen Camel.

A358 at Donyatt Hill.

Lipe Lane, Greenway Lane, Stoke Road and Hayden Lane at Henlade, near Taunton.

Bradford-on-Tone to Hillfarrance.

Stoke Road in Martock.

Amberd Lane in Taunton.

Hoopers Lane in Stoford.

Broadway Lane in Broadway from the junction with A358.

A county council spokesman said: “The highways team is working hard to clear the roads and deal with any outstanding issues in preparation for the continued bad weather.”
