Man charged over pub assault

POLICE have charged a 19-year-old man with assault following an incident at a pub in South Somerset.

The accused has been charged with two counts of common assault after two other men, aged 22 and 58, were injured at The King's Head pub in Church Street, Merriott, on Sunday, October 6.

A 26-year-old man, also arrested in connection with the inquiry, has been released without charge.

The accused has been released on bail to attend South Somerset Magistrates' Court in Yeovil on December 20.
