LEADERS from different faiths will be coming together to the official opening of the new screens placed in the chapel at Yeovil District Hospital.

Artist Richard Tomlinson took part in creative workshops with children in the old nursery opposite the hospital which is now relocated to Preston Road.Religions coming together at Yeovil Hospital

The workshops explored the theme of “sanctuary” and 28 children and five members of staff took part in six workshops.

Hospital chaplain, John Rothwell, said: "The chapel is used by people of different faiths, and people who claim no particular faith. The screens are a really practical way of helping us use the shared space and are a very attractive piece of art in their own right.”

The screens were designed and made with the generous support of a grant from The Westhill Foundation in Birmingham, which seeks to foster good relations between people of different religions.

The official opening is taking place on Thursday (November 21, 2013).
