Wessex Truck Show hands out money to charities

ORGANISERS of the first-ever Wessex Truck Show in Yeovil handed out cheques worth £2,000 to two worthwhile Somerset charities today (Saturday, November 9, 2013).

Representatives of St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice and the British Institute for Brain Injured Children, better known as BIBIC, went along to the Fox and Hounds pub at Charlton Adam to receive £1,000 each.

The money was proceeds from the Wessex Truck Show which was held at Yeovil Showground back in August where hundreds of lorries gathered for a two-day festival.

Barbara McAulay, of the hospice, and BIBIC’s Simone Joyce said they would like to thank Wessex Truck Show and all of its supporters for their generous donations.

Following the presentations, the show organisers met for a meeting where they are already looking ahead to the 2014 event which will be held on August 9-10.
