Serious accident on Ilminster by-pass

THERE was another serious accident on the Ilminster by-pass on the A303 this morning (Saturday, October 19) involving a head-on collision between two vehicles.

The alarm was raised at just before 7.45am and two fire crews from Martock, plus one from Yeovil, were mobilised.

On arrival the firefighters found the incident involved five casualties with one still inside the wreckage.

Crews helped paramedics to get to the casualty by using hydraulic cutting equipment.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “The casualty was conveyed to hospital by ambulance.”
