Put the brakes on speeding drivers

POLICE are looking for groups of people to help put the brakes on speeding motorists by starting a Community Speed Watch scheme in Yeovil and surrounding areas.

Taking part in CSW gives people the chance to get actively involved with road safety in your local community.

A police spokesman said: “A CSW can be set up in any area which is governed by either a 30 or 40mph speed limit and consists of local people who are willing to volunteer a small amount of time each week to monitor speeds with speed detection equipment.”

There are currently more than 100 CSW schemes running in the Avon and Somerset police area.
