Suspected carbon monoxide incident in Yeovil

FIVE people were taken to hospital last night (Sunday, September 22) following a suspected carbon monoxide incident in Yeovil.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a request for support from ambulance personnel at around 10.45pm to an incident at a home in Stiby Court in Stiby Road.

Two fire engines from Yeovil attended the scene and firefighters found that two adults and three children had been escorted from the property all suffering from the symptoms of possible carbon monoxide poisoning.

But a Fire Service spokesman said: “Crews inspected the area with a gas detection monitor, but this showed no readings. Crews isolated the gas to the property.”
