New pub plans for Yeovil

PLANS have been unveiled to build a new family restaurant pub in Yeovil.

Abbey Manor Capital Partners Ltd have applied to South Somerset District Council for planning permission to utilise the site of the former Ashley’s Engineering in West Hendford, Yeovil, by demolishing existing buildings and replace them with a pub, a discount supermarket and a coffee shop drive-through close to the busy Lysander Road.

A spokesman for the applicants said: “This opportunity has presented the chance to regenerate disused land within Yeovil – improving the quality of this area for residents and visitors by creating a new family restaurant/pub and coffee house, improving residents’ choice in amenity shops, and regenerating an area of land currently in poor condition.”

The application will initially be discussed by Yeovil Town Council’s planning committee, before a final decision is made by South Somerset District Council – currently anticipated to be in early December.
