Fun Day success at Johnson Park in Yeovil

THE sun may have been shining, but Derrick Mapletoft got a good old soaking at the family fun day today (Sunday, September 1) at Johnson Park in Yeovil.

Derrick, well-known locally as chairman of Pen Mill FC, was among several willing volunteers to go in the stocks and have soggy wet sponges thrown at them by an army of willing throwers!

It was just one of the various activities on offer today at  Johnson Park as hundreds of people came out to support the event.

The Fun Zone – sponsors of the Yeovil Press – team was heavily involved with the day and there were plenty of inflatable games for people, of all ages, to enjoy.

There were also various stalls, refreshments and Zumba with Heidi.

People were also able to have a go at archery and tennis – just some of the activities available at Johnson Park - and there was a fun-packed It's A Knockout competition.
