Garden shed break-ins increase in Yeovil

POLICE have seen an increase in burglaries at sheds and garages in Yeovil over the last few months.

A police spokesman said: “Residents should be on their guard against seasonal crime which has seen an increase of around five incidents a month between May and July.

“We advise residents to check their security and taking precautions to keep thieves away from valuable tools and garden machinery.”

People should ensure that sheds, garages and outbuildings are properly secured and they should also keep a record of serial numbers on any valuable items and whether items have any identifying marks.
