Grass verge fire on A303 near Ilchester
TWO fire engines were called out this afternoon (Saturday, July 13) following reports of a fire on a grass verge on the A303 near Ilchester.
The alarm was raised at just after 1pm and on arrival firefighters found an area of grass around 20m x 10m alight.
A Fire Service spokesman said: “Crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.”
