Old Girl returns to Bruton School for Girls

THE Bruton School for Girls welcomed ‘Old Girl’ and teen-fiction author, Sarah Naughton, back to the school earlier this month.

Sarah’s debut novel The Hanged Man Rises - a creepy supernatural thriller set in London, came out in March this year.

Sarah gave a short presentation to the girls on what life would have been like in Victorian London, as well as perform a dramatic reading of an excerpt from her book.

She talked to the girls about her career journey as an author and hopefully inspired the next generation of writers.

There was a creative writing workshop, led by Sarah, in which the girls produced their own short piece of fictional writing.

To conclude the day, Sarah was available to sign copies of her book for the girls to take away!

School librarian, Charlotte Kelley, said:  "We are thoroughly looking forward to the visit by Sarah and I am confident it will inspire and enthuse our girls to love the world of literature and perhaps write their own novels one day."
