Beat the burglar in Yeovil

RESIDENTS in Yeovil are being warned to be on their guard against burglars now that the lighter evenings are upon us.

Police have described that house burglaries are very much to the fore in ‘seasonal crime’ which sees an increase of around five incidents a month between May and July.

A police spokesman said: ‘’We advise residents to check their security and take the following precautions to keep thieves away from valuable tools and garden machinery.’’

* Ensure that sheds, garages and outbuildings are properly secured.

* Lock your front door – even if you are out in the garden.

* Keep a record of serial numbers on any valuable items and whether items have any indentifying marks.
