The water company has set up a new online panel called Have Your Say and is encouraging customers from Yeovil and surrounding areas to join so it can listen to the views of customers from as many parts of its region as possible.

Those who register will be asked to take part in a short survey every few months. The surveys will ask questions about a variety of subjects that matter to customers now and also allow customers to comment on the company’s future plans.

Wessex Water’s head of customer relations, Sue Lindsay, said: “Customer engagement is one of our main priorities.

“It is important that we involve customers in the future of our business, as well as hear how we can improve the services we provide now.  We hope these online panels will achieve this.

“We want the panels to represent as many of our customer’s views as possible so are encouraging people from every part of our region to sign up.”

Customers may also be asked to take part in online focus groups or comment on items posted by the company on online forums.

Each time customers complete a survey they will have a chance to win £200 in a prize draw.

In January Wessex Water published its Strategic Direction Statement (SDS) which sets out the challenges for the next 25 years. The company has put forward proposals on how to deal with issues such as the growing population and climate change.
