The competitors will assemble at the Town House in Union Street to be welcomed by the Mayor of Yeovil, Cllr Clive Davis, ahead of the annual town crier contest.

The draw and judges briefing will then take place.  At 10.15am they will walk to King George Street, form up and parade with the Mayor leading – via the Borough and through The Quedam, finally arriving at the Open Air Entertainment Area in The Triangle.

The criers will then break for lunch and Yeovil Town Band will perform for the public. Afterwards at 2.45pm the town criers will return to perform a themed Cry “Helicopters”.  The judges' scores will then be assessed.

The competition will close at approximately 4.30 p.m. with a Closing Cry by Bruce Trigger.

The announcement of the results will be made at The Mermaid Hotel & Restaurant prior to prize giving.

Prizes will be awarded for the overall winner, the first and second Runners-Up, the Best Dressed Crier, Best Dressed Couple and Best Dressed Escort.
