Easter 80s party at Club Neo

PROJECT Zero have a fantastic Under-18s Easter 80s party planned for Wednesday, April 10, from 7pm to 11pm at Club Neo in Stars Lane, Yeovil.

Entry is £5 payable on the door. To get young clubbers into the Party mood there will be prizes for best 80s dressed boy, girl and group plus music with resident DJ Clifty with his mix of urban favourites, Funky House and Ibiza style dance anthems.

Zero has recently launched a Young Promoter’s initiative involving Year 9-11students from the three academy schools in Yeovil - Westfield, Preston and Bucklers Mead.

The aim of the initiative is for the young people to actively promote the Zero events within their schools, have an input in the themes, entertainment and education at events whilst working towards a national accreditation in publicity and marketing.

Zero has been successfully running Under-18 events during school holidays for the past five years for Year 9 students upwards and has the support of many parents.

Gary Hewitt, a parent of a regular attendee, said: “Having spoken to other parents who had children attending Club Neo, I can tell you that I am not alone in my praise for how well the evening was organised and most importantly the kids loved it and can’t wait for the next one!”

The aim of the Zero project, which is supported by the local Police, District and County Councils, NHS, REACH, local schools, youth organisations and parents is to reduce anti-social and binge drinking by providing a safe, alcohol free environment where young people can enjoy a good night of music and dance.

A further Dance Party is being planned for Wednesday, May 29, at Club Neo.

Profits made by the Zero team are available to be awarded as small grants to other groups wishing to carry out projects within the aims and criteria of Zero.
