Stanchester can take a bow for Joseph musical

STUDENTS at Stanchester Academy in Stoke-sub-Hamdon should be giving themselves a big pat on the back after wowing audiences with their production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The 'sold out' signs were up at Stanchester for all three performances of the ever-popular Andrew Lloyd Webber musical on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of last week.

The school production's director, Joshua Newbury, said in his programme notes that the students had been working hard in rehearsals since September and that they were 'truly bringing the musical to life.'

It would be difficult to argue with Mr Newbury's statement as the whole cast did their bit to put on a terrific evening of entertainment with the biblical tale of Joseph.Stanchester can take a bow for Joseph musical

And it would be wrong to single out individual performances when the entire cast deserved the plaudits - but you had to congratulate Ed Holt as Joseph for the way he tackled the lead role, while Katie Orwin and Bianca Morgan shared the narrator's part with conviction.

Stanchester can be rightly proud of a fine performance to show that the Academy is awash with talented young people.
