Zero night at Club Neo has a Valentine's theme

THERE will be photo fun this Valentine’s for under-18s at another popular Zero Project event at Club Neo in Stars Lane, Yeovil.Zero night at Club Neo has a Valentine's theme

The Valentine-themed club night on Wednesday, February 13, is for 14-to-17-year-olds and will be held from 7pm to 11pm. It will cost £5 per person on the door.

To make the evening special, local event hire firm Funtasia Entertainment Ltd is providing a ‘fun photo booth’ so the young people can be captured for free with their Valentine and friends.

South Somerset District Council's Cllr Ian Martin, who has been championing the Zero Project, said: "This is the night for all the young ladies and all the young guys to get together for a fantastic Valentine’s Evening.

"Where else in Yeovil could you possibly want to be? Have a great night everybody."

The Zero Project has been running successful under-18 events during school holidays for five years with the support of local police, District and County Councils, NHS, REACH, schools, youth organisations and parents.

The project aims to reduce anti-social and binge drinking by providing a safe, alcohol-free environment where young people can enjoy a good night of music and dance. This is done by carrying out random breath testing and bag searches.

Parents are asked to drop off and collect their children and the Zero team endeavours to ensure safe passage to the nearby Stars Lane car park at the end of the evening.   The Street Pastors are also on hand to help club goers reach their lifts and homes safely.

An Easter Party is planned for Wednesday, April 10, at Club Neo.

Profits from Zero are to be made available as small grants for other groups wishing to carry out projects within the aims and criteria of Zero.  To apply for a grant application pack, please send contact details to zero@southsomerset.gov.uk  or go to www.southsomerset.gov.uk/zero .
