Funeral service for murder victim Catherine Wells-Burr

THE funeral service for murdered South Somerset woman Catherine Wells-Burr will be held on Friday, February 1, at 12noon at St Mary’s Church in Chard. Funeral service for murder victim Catherine Wells-Burr

The body of Catherine, 23, was found in a burnt-out car in a lane near Ashill running alongside the busy A358 Ilminster to Taunton road on September 12 last year.

After a long police investigation, Catherine’s body has finally been released to allow her grieving family – parents Phil and Jayne and sister Leanne - to give her a funeral service and allow her to finally rest in peace.

It is expected that hundreds of family and friends along with people who did not know her, but who have been touched by the sadness which has shrouded Chard since her death, will attend the service.

Three people have been charged in relation to Catherine’s murder and they were remanded in custody following a brief appearance at Bristol Crown Court last week. A trial will be held in April.

Anyone wishing to make a donation in memory of Catherine can do so with proceeds going to the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society and the British Heart Foundation.
