Investigations ongoing at The Bell

INVESTIGATIONS into what caused the massive fire at The Bell pub in Yeovil earlier this month are ongoing.

Firefighters from across the county were mobilised when fire broke out at the Hungry Horse pub in Preston Road at just after 4am on Sunday, January 6.

The remains of the long-established pub are sealed off with pub owners Greene King determined that it will rise from the ashes once more and be rebuilt.

But a spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said today that investigation officers had yet to determine the cause of the blaze.

The spokesman said that it had been difficult to investigate the cause at the present time due to the remains of the building being so unstable, while he added that the extent of the blaze had added to the problems.

But he said that he hoped that answers would be known soon into the cause.
