Makeover planned for Preston Park

PLANS are in the pipeline to improve the overall appearance of Preston Park in Yeovil.

South Somerset District Council has been made aware that the long-established park in Preston Road is in need of improvement and refurbishment.

A spokesman said: “It would make a great deal of sense to not only improve the play facilities, but to improve the fabric of the park at the same time.”

The council has drawn up a shopping list of things it would ideally like to do – bench refurbishment, new bins, new entrance signs, replacement trees, and a new fence.

Members of Yeovil Town Council’s grounds and general maintenance committee will be meeting on Tuesday, January 7, to discuss the issue and to see if it would like to get involved financially.
