Chimney fires in South Somerset

THE Fire Service was called out twice yesterday to deal with chimney fires at homes in South Somerset.

At just after 4pm the alarm was raised to a home in Peak Lane, Compton Dundon, where fighters from Street were mobilised to deal with the chimney blaze.

And then at just before 7.15pm there was a similar incident at a home in Sandpitts Hill, Langport, where two fire engines were called out to deal with the situation.
