Search continues for missing Philip Eyre

THE search is continuing today to find missing 58-year-old Philip Eyre who has not been seen for more than 24 hours.

Philip was last seen by his family when he left his Somerton home at 5.30pm on Wednesday.

He was driving a silver coloured Peugeot 206 which was located in the Charlton Mackrell area yesterday morning (Thursday).

Searches are being carried out in the area and police officers and PCSOs are being supported by dog handlers, the police underwater team and Avon and Somerset search and rescue.

Philip's colleagues at Yeovil-based AgustaWestland are also assisting with the search.

Philip is described as a 58-year-old white man, 6ft 2ins tall of medium build with dark brown cropped hair. He may have stubble on his face and usually wears glasses.

A police spokesman said: "When last seen he was wearing an orange T shirt with a dark blue gillet/waistcoat over the top. Philip is a diabetic and concern is growing for his welfare."
