Two fire engines from Martock were mobilised to reports of people stuck within a car in floodwater on the road from Huish Episcopi to Muchelney at just before 11am.

A Fire Service spokesman said: ''On arrival at scene the crews donned dry suits and water safety equipment to release three persons from one vehicle.''
