Simon Mayo visits Yeovil
BBC Radio legend Simon Mayo was in Yeovil yesterday (Saturday, November 10) to talk about his children’s book, Itch, an exciting roller-coaster story of an adventure for nine to 12-year-olds.
Mayo (pictured right), one of Britain’s best-loved and well-known radio presenters, was at the Swan Theatre in Yeovil where he was met by an army of avid young book readers and their parents.
He has worked on BBC radio since 1981 and is now the presenter of Drivetime on BBC Radio2 from 5pm to 7pm Monday to Friday which features the regular Book Club show.
His book, Itch, is about Itchingham Lofte, an accidental and accident-prone hero. Science is his weapon, while elements are his gadgets. He is a hero with Geek-Power!
