Resurfacing works put on hold in Yeovil

SCHEMES to resurface a number of residential roads in Yeovil have been put on hold by the Highways Authority.

Members of South Somerset District Council’s Area South committee will hear later today (Wednesday, November 7) that resurfacing work in Stiby Road and Westfield Road have been deferred by the Highways Authority until the outcome of discussions about further traffic calming measures in the area.    Resurfacing works put on hold in Yeovil

And resurfacing at Eastland Road and pavement works at Crofton Avenue have been deferred due to budget constraints at County Hall.

But councillors will be told that resurfacing works on the A30 West Coker Road, Lufton Way and Brimsmore have been completed, while drainage work in Dunnocks Lane, East Coker, has been carried out along with pavement improvements in Bucklers Mead Road, Yeovil.

Outstanding structural schemes to be completed in 2012-13 are as follows: Resurfacing work – Larkhill Road, Yeovil; Lyde Road, Yeovil; Church Lane, Closworth. Pavement work – Huish, Yeovil; Penn Hill, Yeovil; Thatcham Park, Yeovil.
