YEOVIL NEWS: Fireworks Spectacular makes a bang for charity

THE superheroes of Yeovil Round Table and Yeovil Lions Club have handed over a whopping £16,000 to two very important charities.

The Yeovil Hospital Charity and the Children’s Hospice South West organisation each received £8,000 on Monday (February 27, 2017) evening during a presentation held at the Yeovil Court hotel and restaurant on West Coker Road.

The money was raised from the annual Fireworks Spectacular which was held last year at Yeovil Showground on November 5, 2016.

The annual family charity event is hosted each year by the Yeovil Lions Club and Yeovil Round Table and the 2016 fireworks had a theme of Superheroes with the likes of Wonder Woman, Spiderman and Ironman all in attendance.

There was live music, a funfair and refreshments and the event was attended by thousands of people.

Organisers would like to thank everyone who attended the Fireworks Spectacular because without their support they would not have been able to hand over such a terrific amount of money to the two beneficiaries.

Kylie Gallagher, of the Children’s Hospice South West, and James Kirton, of the Yeovil Hospital Charity, were on hand to receive the donations and both said they would like to thank Yeovil Lions and Yeovil Round Table for their wonderful donations.
