YEOVIL NEWS: Buckler’s Mead pride as former student awarded OBE

A FORMER student of Buckler’s Mead Academy in Yeovil has been named in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.

Nathan Sempala-Ntege, of the Royal Regiment of Artillery, has been awarded an OBE in this year’s list in recognition of his service to the British Army.

Nathan was a student at Buckler’s Mead until 1991 and has since advanced to the position of Lieutenant Colonel in the Armed Forces.

Defence Secretary, Sir Michael Fallon, said: “It is right that we honour the dedication and commitment displayed by the men and women in our Armed Forces whose service goes above and beyond.

“Their work and help ensure that Britain stands ready to face any threat as we continue to step up our commitments in Europe and across the world.”

A spokesman for Buckler’s Mead Academy said: “From all past and present members of Buckler’s Mead we congratulate Nathan on his OBE.”

Lt-Col Nathan Sempala-Ntege is the Commanding Officer of 32 Regiment, Royal Artillery.
