CHRISTMAS 2016: Volunteers needed for charity bag pack marathon

THE School in a Bag charity team is looking for volunteers to help them on their annual marathon charity fundraising venture at the main Tesco store in Yeovil.

The charity – which provides SchoolBags packed with everyday school essentials to disadvantaged children around the globe – will be holding the Big Supermarket Bag Pack on Friday, December 23, 2016, from 6am to midnight.

The 18-hour marathon means that plenty of volunteers are needed by the SIAB team, which is based at Chilthorne Domer, to man the tils and help festive shoppers with their bag packing.

People do not have to work the full 18 hours obviously – although it would be amazing if they did. But volunteers can work in shifts to suit their own schedule.

Already an army of volunteers has been assembled but more are needed – especially for the period from around 4pm onwards.
