SOMERSET NEWS: Man fighting for life after assault at Bath and West Showground

A MAN is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a serious assault in the early hours of Sunday (October 30, 2016) morning.

The incident took place at approximately 5.30am in the coach car park at the Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet.

A 25-year-old man was found with serious head injuries. He was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

DI Lee Jones said: “The Slammin Vinyl event took place at the showground on Saturday night into Sunday morning and there were thousands of people in the location.

“The circumstances around this incident are not yet clear but I am keen to speak to anyone at the event who may have witnessed something.SOMERSET NEWS: Man fighting for life after assault at Bath and West Showground

“The victim was located in the coach car park with serious head injuries and I am sure someone must have seen what happened.”

The Slammin Vinyl rave party event at the Bath and West Showground was attended by thousands of people.
