YEOVIL NEWS: Bikes stolen in burglary - do you recognise this man?

POLICE are appealing to the public to help identify a man they would like to speak to who they believe may be able to help with an investigation of a burglary in Yeovil.

The incident took place in the early hours of May 11, 2016, in the Lyde Road area of the town. Two bikes were stolen including a child’s Carrera green and black mountain bike.

Police have released images of a man they would like to speak with in connection with the incident.

PC Card, from Yeovil, said: “I am keen to speak to this gentleman as I believe he will be able to assist with my enquiries. Please call me if you know who he is.YEOVIL NEWS: Bikes stolen in burglary - do you recognise this man?

“A garage was broken into during the night and several items were taken, which we would like to return to the owners if possible.

“I would always recommend some really quick and cost-effective crime prevention tips to minimise the risk of becoming a victim of opportunist thieves.

“Always make sure that your garages, sheds and outbuildings are locked. Fit PIR/dusk-til-dawn sensor lights around your property. Try and lock your bikes up, use a ground anchor if possible or, if not, lock them together and padlock them to another bulky item.

“I would also recommend getting your bikes and other high-value tools and sports equipment property marked and registered on something like BikeRegister.Com. If the worst happens, it does help us return stolen property if it is found.”

If you have information about crime in your area, please call police on 101. Alternatively you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. They never ask your name or trace your call.
