YEOVIL NEWS: Future looking bright for the Westland Leisure Complex

SOUTH Somerset District Council and Finmeccanica Helicopter Division have announced that they have agreed and signed a “Heads of Terms” document which sets out the principles that enable both parties to progress with negotiating a 30-year lease for the Westland Leisure Complex in Yeovil.

Interim arrangements have been put in place by Finmeccanica and SSDC to allow the council to begin preparing theoutdoor facilities for use pending the successful completion of the lease.

It is hoped that the lease can be finalised in the coming weeks to enable SSDC to implement their development plans for the complex which will greatly enhance leisure and sport facilities for the community.

In anticipation of the lease being finalised SSDC is going to be reaching out to the community to find a new name for the complex.

The Westland Leisure Complex has been closed for around six months now.
