SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Tumble dryer fire

ONE person suffered from smoke inhalation following a tumble dryer fire at a property in Crewkerne.

The alarm was raised at 1pm today (Friday, January 22, 2016) to a problem in Rhydderech Way and firefighters from Crewkerne, Chard and Yeovil were mobilised.

Firefighters found there had been a small fire in a tumble dryer, but was out on arrival.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews administered oxygen therapy to one male suffering from smoke inhalation.

“The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.”
