YEOVIL NEWS: Yesteryear calendar 2016 now on sale

THE Community Heritage Access Centre has published its 2016 Yeovil calendar.

Now in its third year, the calendar is produced by the CHAC team and funded by Arts Council England.

This year’s calendar takes in a broader perspective than previous editions.

Heritage information assistant, Joseph Lewis, said: “With the 2016 Calendar, we reflect a period of time from 1880 to 1960, to illustrate Yeovil’s past and the collection of photographs held at the Community Heritage Access Centre.

“For example, we range from a photograph of the Borough, taken by keen Yeovil amateur photographer Henry Stiby around 1880, to a view of the underground toilets and the Britannia Inn, in Vicarage   Street, around 1965 - now part of the Quedam Shopping Centre.

“In this way, we aim to encompass the within living memory angle and also images which have now slipped into history, for the title “Yeovil in the Past.”YEOVIL NEWS: Yesteryear calendar 2016 now on sale
